Hey boys and girls, nice to see you again 😀
So I was tagged by the lovely Lilly @ Lair of Books to do this and even though I’m super behind on my tags’ list (I’m so sorry, everyone!), I thought this one was too fitting to put on hold. Thanks again, Lilly! ^^
P.S.: I altered the banner a little bit to fit my purposes, but it’s still Shanah’s design!
The Rules:
- Please link back to Bionic Book Worm, as the creator of this tag!! She wants to see your answers!!
- Use the graphics – if you want 🙂 (I did, they’re gorgeous!!)
- Have fun!
Weregirl by C.D. Bell felt like a breath of fresh air. The heroine was absolutely awesome and unlike any other YA girls I’d seen. The story and romance were also super on point.
The Witch of Duva / The Too-Clever Fox / The Demon in the Woods by Leigh Bardugo. I was not expecting any of THAT.
Graceling by Kristin Cashore. God, how I miss those two ❤
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas – all three colors!
Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor. Aaarggh my heart!!
There are so many! But I’m going to go with Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller.
I Tag:
• Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books • Birdie @ Birdie Bookworm • Emily @ Books & Cleverness • Charlotte @ Charlotte Annelise • Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books • Steff @ Little Booky Nook • Ami @ Luv to Read • Kate @ Melting Pots and Other Calamities • Dani @ Perspective of a Writer • Daniella @ Reading with Daniella • Rendz @ Reading with Rendz • Jazz @ Swooning Over Fictional Men • Inge @ The Belgian Reviewer • Laura @ The Book Corps • Marta @ The Book Mermaid • Tiana @ The Book Raven • Rain @ The Wuthering • Briana/Krysta @ Pages Unbound Reviews • Sophie @ Sophie’s Corner • Icebreaker694 • Mogsy @ The BiblioSanctum • Shanny @ Little Irish Book Cat • Poulami @ Daydreaming Books • anyone else who wants to! •
As always, no pressure to do this tag! It’s all in good fun 🙂
Thank you so much for reading and until next time!
No need to apologise. I am running behind on awards and tags myself, so I know hoe that feels. Really enjoyed the layout for this tag. As usual, I have not read any of these books, but they all look really awesome. That one year leave from my work becomes ever more tempting lol. Great post, which is of course no big surprise 😀

Thanks for the kind words, Michel 🙂 Indeed we bloggers seem to suffer from that same horrid lateness hahaha
I thought the layout was so cute!! I love everything Fall, too ^^ I hope you might get to read some of them eventually (not all because, well, there are A LOT hahaha)
Oh you should totally enjoy your time off work, and if that means reading a bit, well, I sure hope you get to find some gems 🙂 And, of course, invest in all your other hobbies too.
Thank you very much ❤ You're the best!

I am still reading the language of thorns but these short stories are amazing!! I still need to read Daughter of the Pirate King! I have heard nothing but good things. Fun tag and great post ❤

Ooooh I haven’t read that one yet! T_T Well, technically, I did read half of it? But I so want to read the other three new short stories! If they’re as awesome as the previous ones, then we’re in for a ride 🙂 There’s very little that can go wrong with Leigh Bardugo, though. I mean, the woman is a genius. And those stories with their epic twists just prove it tenfold.
I absolutely recommend DotPK, although I did read some mixed reviews… I’m not sure why, though, the story was super fun and the characters were just awesome! But to each his own, of course 🙂 Let me know what you think of it, if you do end up trying it!
Thank you so much, Gretchen ❤ And feel free to do this, I'd love to see your answers!

Yes I still need to read the other three short stories as well. I have high hopes though because like you said, it’s very little that can go wrong with the dark queen that is Leigh Bardugo.
I cannot wait to read Daughter of the Pirate King!! EEEEEEEEEEEK!

Oh great answers for this tag Sophie. 🙂 I read the short stories by Leigh Bardugo and they definitely blew me away as well, those endings were incredible but so unexpected. Kind of reminded me of the Grimm fairytales where the endings are more gruesome and unexpected than not you know?
Also that edition of Crown of Midnight is gorgeous, very fall inspired, and Days of Blood and Starlight is an incredible read. Honestly I love that whole series though. 🙂
Again great picks for this tag! 😀 ❤

Thanks so much, Beth ^_^
I know, right? I was expecting something weird, of course, but I could never have guessed it. Even after reading two of them, the third still blew me away! Just comes to show how well written they are. And oh, absolutely! Great comparison, I hadn’t thought of it… Maybe that’s part of the reason I loved them so much too hahaha
I like the US editions a lot more than the UK ones with the white backgrounds. They’re identical except for that one tiny detail that, somehow, makes all the difference. They just don’t feel as powerful to me.
I’m almost finished with Dreams of Gods and Monsters and OMG, I’m close to having a seizure from all the feels! It’s such an amazing, amazing series and I can’t wait to read Night of Cake and Puppets too. Mik and Zuzana are so cute, I can’t ❤ Have you read it?
LikeLiked by 1 person
That’s all right. 🙂 Yeah I never could have predicted those endings but I guess that’s part of why I love Leigh Bardugo’s writing, you never can predict where her stories or her characters are actually going to go. Ha, I know it’s the reason I loved them so much! 🙂
It really does make a difference, and I think he US editions stand out so much more because of the background colours. Oh yay I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the series, and yes I have read Night of Cake and Puppets, I have the hardcover illustrated edition that was recently released, and oh I loved it. I’m sure you will as well. 🙂 ❤️

Oooh you’re so lucky!! 😍 Plus, the fact that the illustrator is the author’s husband, when the book revolves around such a sweet couple, has to be the cutest thing ever!

I’m so looking forward to reading They Both Die at the End! I’m already wrecking my brain over the warm and fuzzy feeling.. it’s been so long ;-), I’ve been reading thrillers mostly.. maybe I should read another CoHo book before doing this tag :-). Great answers from you and thank you for tagging me. If I can come up with some answers I’ll probably do this one, if not for a chance to use these lovely graphics as well 🙂

Oh I have that one! But I have never read anything by Silvera and think it will depress me greatly… But I’ll give it a go anyway 😂
I always try to come up with different answers but somehow always end up with the same books, almost? No matter how many I read 😂 So I get what you mean. You still have time, though, so maybe try another CoHo just in case 😉
Thank you so much, Inge ❤ And you're very welcome, I hope you enjoy doing this tag! The graphics are very cute indeed, Shanah is so talented ❤

Great book tag. I think I’ve only read DOTPK and I didn’t even know there was a sequel. And I still haven’t read Throne of Glass…yet. 🙂 If you like Laini Taylor, then you might like “Strange the Dreamer.”

Thanks, Kathy 🙂 There is one and I can’t wait to read it! It was announced shortly after I finished it so I was over the moon ^^
I think you’ll either love or hate ToG… I definitely liked the first two books better than the others but many people are the exact opposite.
I do have Strange the Dreamer on my TBR and plan to read it soon ❤ Thank you for the rec, though!

Hi Sophie, thanks for tagging me! I haven’t read most of the books in your list, but I agree with you on Weregirl – both the main character and the plot seem really fresh!
I’ll try to do this tag as soon as possible, maybe it’ll attract Fall to Portugal haha Really, we’re in October but lately we’ve been getting temperatures of 30ºC around here! It’s too hot 😦

Thank you so much for the tag! I’m so sorry how long it’s taken me to reply. It’s been manic this week! I love your choice for ‘Leaf Fight’. I adored the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy when it came out and am always jealous of how awesome the US covers are 😛

That’s quite all right! I totally understand, my schedule’s been hectic as well 😫
I personally don’t like the US covers much hahaha I usually don’t like covers with faces in them and feel like these didn’t really have anything to do with the story… But to each their own, I guess 😊

It was one of the darkest stories I ever read hahaha It kind of upset me a little bit, even 😂 Trust Bardugo to be a genius writer yet again!
The DoSaB series is absolutely superb!! I’m stalling as much as I can finishing the third book, but I feel my control slipping away hahaha Also really want to check out Night of Cake and Puppets 😍

YAY FALL TAG! Thanks for the tag Sophie, I’ve been seeing this around and it looks so fun! It’ll have to skip the line! ♥️ Love your answers! Laini Taylor’s Daughter or Smoke and Bone is quite action packed with such incredible characters! I want to read Graceling… it seems you were a huge fan… I’ve read some reviews that made it seem iffy to me, it’s good to hear you enjoyed it… something about the blurb calls to me as I hold onto the book on my TBR!

No problem, Dani! It is quite fun and I hope you enjoy doing it 🙂
Graceling seems to get a ton of mixed reviews, yeah. Personally, I really fell in love with it, the story, its characters and the main pairing. I thought it was super dark at times, too! The heroine is definitely someone to behold and I love that. So I think you need to read it and decide for yourself, especially if you enjoyed the blurb 😉

Ah I really love this tag! And all your answers are so on point! I have to read this Weregirl. A few other bloggers have mentioned how original the characters and plot were. I loved the endings to all three of Leigh Bardugo’s short stories! Graceling and Crown of Midnight are two of my favorite fantasy books. Don’t know how many times I’ve reread Graceling and Crown of Midnight turned around the ToG series, because I was kinda unimpressed with the first book. Gotta continue on with that series soon! Warms my heart for you to include Days of Blood & Starlight on here. That book is PHENOMENAL. Also, cannot wait for Daughter of the Siren Queen either. The first book was so fun! Great post, Sophie! 😀

Thanks so much! Oh you totally need to, Weregirl and Chimera are EPIC ❤ Super original and kickass ^^
Aaaww Bardugo writes the best short stories, for sure! Well, at least so far hahaha I have yet to finish Language of Thorns.
Me too! I've started Empire of Storms recently, which was a big step for me because I could not bring myself to do it for ages. So far, it's alright…
Yes!! The whole DoSaB trilogy is absolutely amazing ❤ Reminds me I have about five pages to go before finishing the last book? What is wrong with me X'D (In my defense, I was trying to make it last as long as possible… Uh huh!)
I ADORED Daughter of the Pirate King so yeah, I'm super pumped for the second installment 😀
Thank you, hon!
