The Narnia Book Tag

Hey guys! I hope you’re having a great Sunday ❤

Since I’m on a tag roll, I thought I’d do another one: the Narnia Book Tag! To be honest, I haven’t actually read the Narnia books and can barely remember the movies… BUT I plan on diving into the Narnia world in the near future so hold your pitchforks, people! I promise to make you all proud.

Thank you to Rendz @ Reading with Rendz, Princess @ The Royal Reader, and Nadwa @ Painfully Fictional for tagging me! ❤

This tag was originally created by Clémence @ Clemi’s Bookish World.

NARNIA – A magical world you would like to visit?

“If she says Harry Potter I’m gonna slap…”

hp.jpg

I like to live dangerously.

THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW – A book you think is underrated?

32849250

I rarely see anyone mentioning this series and it’s actually super good? Like, really good.

THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE – A classic that you love?

9780141199085

I think this’ll be a very repetitive tag 😂

THE HORSE AND HIS BOY – A book you picked up without knowing what it was about?

the-unbecoming-of-mara-dyer

This one, I went in almost completely blind. I knew it was a paranormal romance. That’s it.

PRINCE CASPIAN – A sequel that you loved?

covers

I’ll have to steal Rendz’s answer here because man, THIS BOOK. And also THIS OTHER BOOK.

THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER – A quest you’d like to be a part of?

28187

I think these guys have so much fun along the way, never mind that they almost get themselves killed every time. Plus, I mean, Greek mythology? I’m in.

THE SILVER CHAIR – A book you didn’t expect to love?

the-hating-game.jpg

I expected it to be a fun read but I never imagined it would be so amazing!

THE LAST BATTLE – A perfect ending to a series you love?

full-metal-alchemist.jpg

This question made me realize that I a) have so many unfinished series, and b) rarely love a series’ ending… So there, a manga.

THE PEVENSIES – A siblinghood of friendship you’d love to be a part of?

daughter-of-the-forest.jpg

The Sevenwaters family will always have a place in my heart. I love how tightly knit they are and how they’ll always protect each other to whatever end!

EUSTACE SCRUBB – A character who grew on you?

ink-and-bones

Jess Brightwell. I hated him in the first book but he kind of made up for it in the second one.

TUMNUS – Your favourite mystical creature?

Ugh, I can’t choose! All of them!

CASPIAN – A character with regal qualities?

kiss-of-redemption

This is a tough one because almost every book I read has some type of royal character in it… Oops. But I’m going to go with the Prince from The Remnant Chronicles.

REEPICHEEP: a loyal character

51j9LzJVw6L._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_

Arin from The Winner’s Trilogy. My God. The feels.

THE WARDROBE – Your favourite hideout/place to read?

My bed. It’s the one place I can completely lose myself to reading!

  1. I have seen all the Narnia movies, but have never read the books (I hope everyone will hold their pitchforks for me as well 😂😂) I must say that I quite liked the films. They had fun storylines and well, were just very easy watches that I quite enjoyed.
As usual you have made a very fun post out of this tag. Cool to see a manga (and a very good one at that) make an appearance as well. I actually plan on watching the anime this year, as it’s one of those classics that I have heard should at least have been watched once. Great post! 😀

    1. We’ll protect each other 😂😂 I remember liking them too, but I don’t remember much about the storyline… I need to rewatch them again.
Thank you, glad to hear you liked it! 🙂 FMA is one of my favorite mangas of all time, I HAD to use it ^^
Are you going to watch the first one or the Brotherhood? I haven’t watched Brotherhood yet but it’s apparently much more faithful to the manga.
      Thanks, Michel! *hugs*

      1. You are very welcome, no worries 😊😊
The box I bought (and it was a real bargain on comic con last year) was for the Brotherhood series. Really can’t wait to start on it, as I really have heard awesome things on it 😊😊

  2. Oh, I loved this tag, Sophie. So many books I want to read. I’m saving this post in my “Reading” folder for future reference. For some reason your comment on Daughter of the Forest made me want to start there, too. Thanks for all the recommendations!

    1. Thanks, Diana! I hope you enjoy them when you get to them, they are some of my favorites ^^
Anything by Juliet Marillier will surely please you, she’s a Queen of the fantasy genre. Think The Mists of Avalon – if you like that kind of story, then you must certainly will enjoy her books 🙂 Her Sevenwaters series is one of my favorites ever, even if not all books are equally excellent. I have yet to read some of her newer books but I’ve heard wonderful things about them too.
      Thank you for reading! ❤

    1. YESSSS OMG YOU TOO??? ❤ ❤ God, I adore that book. I know most people hate it and I'm like "WHY??" It's one of the best things ever written and I can't get over how genius it is! I think because they were expecting a happy love story and ended up with their heart falling apart and bleeding on their hands? XD

    1. Thank you, Kester! I hope you have fun with it 🙂
Hmm WH is definitely not for everyone but I agree that you might be more willing to enjoy it now. It IS a very heavy read, especially for younger people. But it’s so worth it ❤
I have read very few classics and it's terrible! I definitely plan on reading Jane Eyre and all the other wonderful books out there soon. Baby steps hahaha

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Definitely! I told myself “one classic per month” but that hasn’t happened with January so Idk what I’m going to do, haha. I’m planning on reading Jane Eyre soon because I have an ARC of Brightly Burning and I know I need to read Jane Eyre so I could see the similarities! 🙂

        1. Hahaha that’s okay, you can plan it a little more carefully next time, that way there won’t be any excuses 😉
Ah really? I had no idea it was a retelling! That’s really cool. I wish you good luck then, and can’t wait to read your review on both! 😊

  4. Thanks for the tag, I will definitely be doing this one!! Haha I was the same with the Mara Dyer series, I just bought all 3 books on a whim…I’m so glad I actually liked them!!! Great answers!!!!

    1. Sure thing, Steff! I hope you enjoy it 🙂
Hahaha well that was a leap of faith right there xD Glad to hear it paid off, nonetheless ^^
I need to read the sequels and eventually Noah Shaw’s series too. Have you read that one yet?
      Thank you, hon! ❤

      Liked by 1 person

      1. No I haven’t read the Noah Shaw ones yet…I have heard they are good but I was a little bit hesitant. I think it’s on my TBR for this year 🙂

THOSE TWO SEQUELS!!!!!!!!!!!! THE ONLY ANSWERS THAT APPLY, AM I RIGHT??
I'm so glad you enjoyed the tag!

    1. Hahaha thanks, Rendz! Sorry it took so long to do this one but I finally did it 😀
THANK YOU FOR FORGIVING ME!!! T_T I feel like a terrible person doing a Narnia tag without having read the books *cue in Shame nun gif from Game of Thrones*
OMG YESSSS!!! ❤ ❤ I think I'll be rereading them repeatedly until I can mend my broken heart over them being over 😥
Thanks, it was lovely to do this one! ^_^

  6. Thanks for the tag! Btw Weregirl is on my wish list because of your review, so I’m looking forward to reading it 🙂 Also believe it or not I have never read Wuthering Heights, although I might have seen the movie eons ago… which is silly really because I love romances set in that period. One day I will. And now you mention it, Daughter of the Forest really did have tight-knit siblings – I don’t know if I’d have thought of it off the top of my head it but on reflection it was definitely a key element of the story that I enjoyed. Anyway, great choices!!

    1. No problem, Nicola! 🙂
Oh I really hope you enjoy it, I feel it’s such an underrated book and I’d love to see more people giving it a try ^^
I watched so many adaptations after reading it (you can say I’m obsessed xD) and I enjoyed some of them, but of course none comes close to the original source material. I would say this is a very turbulent romance and if you only go for happy stories, you’ll probably not enjoy this one ^^’ But I personally loved it to bits.
It was one of my favorite parts of the series, to be honest. I love family stories and they were all so wonderful (except, you know, SOME people) they warmed my heart so much ❤
      Thank you! 🙂

  7. Lovely answers! 🙂 Arin certainly is a loyal character – I only read the first two books in the series so far, I will have to read the last one 🙂
And yes for Harry Potter, that’s an obvious answer, but… how can we pick another magical world to visit? 😛

    1. Thank you, Marie 🙂 Oh he is THE loyal character for sure… My heart broke for him so many times. I hope you love the final installment as much as I did! I was so depressed after it was over though…
I know, right?? I felt like I was being a walking cliché but really, how could I not? xD

  8. This is an awesome tagging game. And especially because Narnia is used. Those books, which I first read 30 years ago, were what hooked me on reading. Given to me in secret by my uncle because I wasn’t supposed to read things like that (strict family). I fell in love with fantasy.

    Like

    1. Glad you like it 🙂 I unfortunately haven’t read them yet but the tag surely made me want to!
Really? I thought Narnia was based on religion so I wasn’t aware there was anything wrong with it. But I understand how people might assume fantasy was “bad”.
      Kudos to your uncle! ^^

  9. What a fun book tag here and thanks for sharing!!!

I adored the Hating Game and like you I was surprised in how much I actually liked it. Normally super hyped books I don’t normally like, but this one was awesome. And really Harry Potter is so wonderful and I love how it has inspired reading for thousands of people.

    1. Sure thing 🙂 Glad you enjoyed it!
The Hating Game was amazing, I have no words. I was expecting some cliché chick lit, I got ROFL material and swoony moments for days ❤ I only got to read it recently and I hadn't really cared much for it when it was first published and everyone raved about it. But I'm glad I gave it a try 🙂
Right? How could I ever pick anything other than the books that shaped my childhood? ❤

      Like

    1. Thanks, Dani! Yes, it was a super long series but so worth it! I absolutely devoured it ❤ And the ending really did please me 🙂
Yeah I was glad to have given the second book a chance even after I hadn't connected with Jess… I've already read the third, too and really liked it ^^ I can't wait for the next installments!

  10. I have never seen this tag before! Your choices are awesome and I think that I would put HP on any list, really. Reading in bed is so decadent and is where I prefer to read as well. Definitely bookmarking this one. 🙂

  11. Great answers for this tag Sophie, and yeah it’s cliche but Hogwarts is a magical world I’d love to visit/be a part of. I think for most bookworms who have read the series that’s always going to be the case right? 😀
Scarlet was a sequel I loved, and oh it was the same for Crown of Midnight, I enjoyed that one so much more than Throne of Glass. Also I would love to be part of any of the quests Percy Jackson went on in the series, I mean I probably wouldn’t survive long but I really enjoyed the adventures they had so I’d be willing to risk it. 🙂
Arin is a great character, and yes I love reading in my bed as well. The only worry is accidentally falling asleep while reading which has happened a few times I’ll admit. 🙂 ❤
    Great post Sophie 🙂

    1. Thank you, Beth! And right? I feel I’d be cheating myself if I didn’t answer honestly, no matter how cliché 😂
Me too! Both of them were far superior to the first book. And I really disliked the ToG series after that.
Hahaha same here… But then again, clumsy Percy did so I guess if I had the right sidekicks I’d be fine 😂
Arin is on my top 3 book boyfriends. He’s so lovely my heart bursts for him ❤️
That happens to me way too often! But I still find it more productive than reading anywhere else just because I’m never comfy enough and I can literally be in bed when sneaky Hypnos closes in 😛
Thank you so much, hon! ❤️

      1. That’s all right. 🙂 Yep, even if I choose a difference answer for those kind of questions I normally add Harry Potter in there somewhere. 😀
I love it when series get better after the first book. It’s always a nice surprise, but it also means I’m very reluctant to finish a series if the first book didn’t live up to my expectations, which can sometimes be a bad thing if the series doesn’t get better.
Oh talking about Arin is making me want to re-read The Winner’s Trilogy all over again! 😀 Yeah nothing quite beats reading in bed! 🙂
        That’s all right. ❤️

  12. This is a fun tag!! And I’ve only read three of the books you listed 😱 Some of them are on my list though. Also, what’s this about pitchforks?? A chocolate bribe is obviously more effective *bribes you to read them* 🍫🍫🍫 I liked them more when I was younger than I do now, but they’re great 😄

    Great post!!

  13. Dangerous, dangerous girl hahahah I got to admit that Greek mythology is one of the best mythos out there! I haven’t read anything by Riordan yet but I do have the Lightning Thief collection to go through when the time is right hahah Awesome answers though! Thanks for sharing, Sophie! 😀

    1. Hahaha more like crazy! 😅 But at least it’d be crazy fun 😂
Oh I hope the right time comes soon 😉 It really is a nice series, if a bit juvenile. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it and how well/badly Riordan got the mythology in your opinion!
Thank you, Lashaan, and thanks for reading! ❤️

  14. Thanks so much for tagging me! I am so not surprised that Harry Potter is that first answer – I am sure that a lot of people agree with you! And can I go on the Percy Jackson quest too please? I think I would love that too much 😀 Scarlet is an amazing sequel, and actually brings in my favourite couple in the seires. I have to admit though that I really really dislike Wuthering Heights *hides*

    1. Hahaha yup, it’s a very automatic answer for me. Oh of course! ❤️ The more the merrier, and we’ll need all the help we can get to keep all our limbs intact 😂
Ahh another Wolflet fan?? They’re my favorite couple too 😍😍 *fangirls to infinity*
Hahaha I was surprised to learn how unpopular WH actually was… I loved it but even I admit it’s not a book for everyone 😉 It’s certainly… Peculiar.

  15. hahaha to be fair HP’s world is the perfect answer 😉 I like the sound of weregirl. And Wuthering Heights is brilliant. Ah yes I totally agree with your choice of sequels. And yes to percy jackson’s quest. Huh- I’ve been really on the fence about hating game lately- I guess I’d better just get on it 😉 Arin is awesome!!

    1. Isn’t it? 😁 Weregirl is quite good! You should give it a try sometime.
Cheers to WH! ❤️ Hahaha I’ll make room for you in our quest then 😉
I personally found The Hating Game awesome and a laugh out loud kind of read, which is very hard for me to achieve. So I hope you give it a go!
