The wonderful Ava @ Reads, Rhythms & Ruminations tagged me for this a few weeks back and I really wanted to do it before I was too late! It was created by Farah @ A Booktube Book.
Please go check out Ava’s blog for some awesome nerdy posts and other great features ❤

What’s one book you want everyone to read?
Wuthering Heights! Even though I know it’s not for everybody.
Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Mr. Robot
What was your favourite book cliffhanger within a series?
The Fearless Travelers’ Guide to Wicked Places. It had so many suspenseful moments and twists, I kept holding my breath in anticipation.

Name the last book that made you cry or teary-eyed
The Penryn and The End of Days series had a few heartbreaking moments that did make my vision a bit blurry.
Brexit
Name a book you have an unpopular opinion towards
Fangirl. I just didn’t connect with Cat at all and found her honestly quite annoying. I enjoyed the other characters and there were some nice moments but overall it was a pretty boring read for me.

Name an author you discovered/read for the first time this year
Amanda Sun. I read her entire Paper Gods series last year and really liked it!
#AllLivesMatter
Your favourite diverse read
Ink and Bone was pretty diverse when it came to characters’ nationalities and also had at least one non-heterosexual relationship. I’m still debating whether those were accurate depictions or stereotypical ones, though.

Leonardo DiCaprio FINALLY won the Oscar
What was your most anticipated book release this year?
Empire of Storms and The Fate of the Tearling.

very cool tag! Totally agree with Wuthering Heights! I read it once a year and think everyone else should too lol.

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊
I know some people won’t like it but I still think they should give it a chance. It’s an absolute masterpiece.

haha forgot how dark some of these questions are- great post though! Ah Empire of Storms was definitely one of my most anticipated releases too. And I agree about Falling Kingdoms (though I haven’t had the chance to read book 5 yet) loads of people die- it’s a very eventful series! Great post!

Hahaha true! I guess all that talk about its resemblance to A Song of Ice and Fire really rubbed off on it 😆
Tags are definitely getting more and more creative these days. I do find myself thinking long and hard before answering most of them!
Thank you so much for reading! 😊

I liked Fangirl a lot but I also didn’t really like Cath, it’s weird 😛
LikeLiked by 1 person
That can happen! I think a character doesn’t make the book, not even a main character. Like I mentioned, I pretty much enjoyed everything else outside of Cath hahaha
It was still not enough to win me over but oh well…

Great post! Thanks for the shout out! I don’t think I’ll continue the ToG series for a while, still stuck on QoS and have decided to put it on hold.
Guess I’ll pick it up again once all the parts are released. But for now, I just cannot bear this series anymore!
I had read Wuthering Heights a long time back, I can’t even remember it anymore. But I guess I’ll read it again.
Awesome post, keep it up! C:

Yeah, it was just such a disappointment… I can’t believe some of the things that happened and how much the characters changed! I guess I want to finish the series, but more out of loyalty/OCDness than anything else.
Wuthering Heights is one of my absolute favorite books, if not my favorite one. But I know some people despise it so I always hesitate to recommend it hahaha
Thank you so much! ❤ You too! ^^

As curious as I am to know what happens next, I still needed a break from this series, so I decided to put it on hold.
I’ve heard mixed opinions on Wuthering Heights but it must be able awesome book if it’s your favourite!

admire how you have no DNF!! i feel like about fangirl, i started reading it 4 years back but DNF until recently… it reads better after the long break i took from it and i was able to like it more as compared to when i first started.
great post btw do keep it up!!! c:

Hahaha even if I’m not enjoying a book, I always have that nagging feeling that I need to continue reading it because a) it might get better and I just don’t want to miss out on it, and b) because I can’t stand the thought of an unfinished book.
I’m considering DNFing books in the future, though, since I just don’t have the time to read them all. I definitely need to finally prioritize those I want to read as opposed to those I can barely find the strength to pick up.
I definitely struggled with Fangirl! But I didn’t want to give up on it.
Thank you so much! ❤ ❤ You too! 🙂

Loved your answers! I’m glad you liked Grisha trilogy! Though I hated the ending, It’s one of my favorite series. 😀

A lot of people seem to! I actually enjoyed it and thought it was fitting. But I guess to each his own 🙂
Do you care to elaborate why you didn’t enjoy it? I’m quite curious!

I do enjoyed the series but I didn’t liked the ending. Darkling is my favorite character from the start and that ending definitely ruined everything for me. I wish there was an alternative ending to it where he finally redeemed himself and changed into a good guy once he used to be.

Yeah I understand. I did like him and thought he was an awesome villain, powerful yet vulnerable, scarred and cold hearted. I think after reading his back story I really started empathizing with him more but I wouldn’t have liked that type of ending, to be honest. I thought the real one was quite nice. But a lot of people weren’t pleased with it so I get your point.

Good for you for finishing all the books you read last year. 😀 And I like Wren’s character more than Cath in Fangirl. Though sometimes I understand Cath. 🙂
Great post! 😀

I could relate more to Wren… Except for the partying and drinking I guess. But she was still hard to like.
Thank you! 😊

Great answers Sophie! Congrats on not DNFing any books in 2016 – I didn’t finish 1 book last year. I haven’t read any of the Brontës’ works but I will definitely check Wuthering Heights.

Thank you, Emily! 🙂 I have this OCDness about finishing every book I’m reading… Or else I’ll put it on hold, but I never actually give up on it.
I haven’t tried any other Brontë pieces except for this one, either.
It’s such a shame (and a bit eerie) that this is her only novel. She died very young, but she was so talented! I wish I could have more to read from her, although nothing would probably come close to Wuthering Heights in my book.
Thanks for stopping by! ❤

I struggle so much with DNFing but I’ve been putting less pressure on myself lately. On the one hand, I enjoy reading so what’s the point of forcing myself to read a book I don’t enjoy. On the other hand, how can I properly judge it or what if it gets better and I miss out?

I get what you mean… I’m actually trying to get into DNFing books hahaha! I just don’t have the time to read them all so I need to be more selective from now.
My main concern is that, though: that I’ll be missing out on it if I don’t finish it. But from my experience, that rarely happens so I might just have to let it go for good.
Do you usually review the books you DNF? Because that’s also something I’m unsure about.

I do give a mini review of the books I DNF but I do feel guilty reviewing and rating those books sometimes because I haven’t got all the information and what if I ~could~ have liked it even more if I finished it? I still think your thoughts are valid as long as you’re saying that you did DNF. It’s still your choice though 😀

Yeah that’s my reasoning too… Yet on one hand do you really have all the information needed to provide an accurate review? But on the other hand, aren’t reviews based on one’s experience? So technically you are perfectly allowed to write about a book you didn’t finish, because that was your experience.
Ugh, reviewing is hard xD

I haven’t read a lot of these unfortunately, but I agree An Ember in the Ashes was hyped up for a while and Penryn & The End of Days definitely had a few heartbreaking moments. It makes me so happy whenever you mention Wuthering Heights. It’s such a fantastic book 😉

Hahaha thank you! Wuthering Heights just makes me so happy in general, even though it’s such a so not happy book XD
I hope you get to try the others, they’re all really nice reads (of course I’m biased but either way, you should read them to see for yourself 😛 )
