Desert Island Book Tag

desert-island0

Hey everyone!

I was tagged by the wonderful Maranda @ The Librarian’s Toolbox to do this, and even though we both share the pain of never knowing what to pick as our answers, I decided to give this one a try! So here it goes:

Water

A book you simply cannot live without

wuthering-heights

Wuthering Heights is my favorite, favorite book of all time and I’ve lost count how many times I’ve re-read it. It’s not the most uplifting of books (quite the contrary) but I just can’t imagine a world where I wouldn’t be able to have it.

Food

A book that is a close second on your favorites list

It’s very hard for me to choose, as I simply have too many books I love! But I guess I’ll go with Child of the Prophecy, as it’s one of the first that captured my heart when I was younger and has stayed with me ever since.

Shelter

A book that makes you feel at home and safe

61H1Vt5PpyL.jpgThis is a popular one and I didn’t want to use it, but I’ll have to go with the Harry Potter series. Can you blame me?

Flare Gun

A book you would recommend to someone who doesn’t read

7821447

Based on personal experience, I will have to pick Sh*t My Dad Says, which I let a friend of mine borrow in an attempt to make him read more. It worked and he really loved it! It’s not a story per se, but more like a collection of hilarious moments between the author and his father. So yes, I highly recommend it!

Matchsticks

A book that warms your heart

I realize now that I don’t have many happy little books in my collection hahahaha. So I guess I need a manga for this one… Not sure if it’s allowed but Dengeki Daisy was always so cute and adorable it made me melt instantly! The characters were incredibly lovable and had such sweet interactions. I still go back to it whenever I want to feel fuzzy inside.

Compass

A book that directed you towards your love of reading

Fairy tales would be my immediate choice, as they were my very first books. I always loved the mythical, magical aspect of them, where everything was possible, making you forget all about everyday life. I also just loved the happy endings, no matter how cheesy!

Now I tag:

Megan @ bookslayerReads

Sam @ onebookishgirl

Queen Mery @ My Parisian Bookshelf

Sam @ Sam’s life in books

If you’ve already done this tag or if you don’t want to do it, no worries! I just hope you have fun with it, if you do 🙂

So here it is! I always feel like I choose the same books in every tag, but I try my best not to! I guess I’m just not in my most imaginative mood when I write these. I’m very sorry for being repetitive, guys… See you next time!

  3. Wuthering Heights is my favorite, too. I read it every year! I think that’s why I can’t get enough anti-heroes… I’ve been meaning to read more Juliet Marillier. I just finished Shadowfell and loved it, so I’ll check out her other series on your rec!

    1. I haven’t read it in a while… But I think about it constantly 😊 I have yet to read Shadowfell or any of the “newer” series by her. I just don’t think they’ll ever measure up to Sevenwaters… I hope I’m proven wrong, though!
